Arco 2011: The SALEWA Athletes look forward to the World Championships

SALEWA has been a partner of the RockMaster event in Arco, near Trento in northern Italy, for the last 5 years. In addition, each year, the mountain sport specialist from below the Alpine divide recognises the world’s best climber with the SALEWA Rock Award.  The company is particularly happy to support the event this year, since the world championships in sport climbing will take place in Arco. And, the best sport climbers from the SALEWA team will be there to take part in Arco 2011 too.

Climbing ? For our community, it’s an urban way of life

For the young and indeed the young at heart, climbing has long since ceased to be a mere sport. Climbing is very much a way of life that is gradually spreading throughout urban areas, towns and cities. A young climber can make a clear statement and show the community that he belongs  – with the La Mano collection from SALEWA.

An unclimbed ascent in Greenland

The international SALEWA alpineXtrem Team has chosen the sunny month of August
to head north into the cold. The objective of this expedition is an unclimbed big wall
in eastern Greenland. SALEWA’s athletes aim to use ‘fair means’ to be the first to
climb this approx. 1,100 metre high wall, providing yet another example of sustainable,
respectful and value-oriented mountain climbing.
