•  Incredible growth in core business, established infrastructure, and strategic planning ... Leads us to SS10 launch of Salewa Footwear


HISTORY OF BRAND IN USA:
•  First US customer was REI in Seattle … founder Lloyd Anderson visited Munich in 1966/7, beginning a long-standing good relationship
•  Early 70’s partnership with Eiger expanded distribution in West, while distribution was expanded in the east through EMS, Abercrombie, etc
•  In 1969 at Trento Italy Mountain Film Festival 1969, partnership struck with Yvon Chouinard (BD/Patagonia) and Doug Tompkins (TNF) … Salewa produced the Chouinard Rigid Crampon
•  Climbing friendship with Yvon expanded business to Everest Modular Crampon, then to special carabiner branded “Salewa/Chouinard”
•  Further partnerships created interesting “Lowe-Camp-Interalp-Salewa” branded crampons and ice tools
•  Then Salewa brand exported in various categories to US over years
