This young Russian was invited to be a member of the international SALEWA alpineXtrem team in summer 2009 - and for good reason. He took second place in the 2009 international bouldering championships, and achieved two first places, a second place and a third place in various events of the IFSC Boulder Worldcup 2008/2009. He is the first Russian to have a sports climbing route grade 9a (UIAA: XI) in his list of achievements. The fact that the 22-year old only began his career on the vertical in 2003 shows his strength of purpose, and his willingness to sacrifice all to be at the forefront in bouldering and competitive climbing. And his successes continue: in 2010 he achieved second place in bouldering at the RockMaster in Arco.
