Our new star recruit from Russia
The international SALEWA alpineXtrem team welcomes new member Anna Galliamova

In the summer of 2009 we were delighted to welcome Rustam Gelmanov onto the SALEWA alpineXtrem team, and now with Anna Galliamova we are pleased to announce the arrival of a second climber from Russia. Anna is one of the most versatile climbers in the sport, and has been a member of the Russian national climbing team since 2005.

Anna climbs fast, as she showed by winning third place in the "Speed" category at the 2005 Junior World Championships. Her international placings in competitive bouldering demonstrate how she combines flexibility with strength, for example by winning third place at the 2010 World Cup in Munich, or by reaching the finals of the RockMaster 2010 in Arco. The 24-year-old from Moscow also has the necessary skills and stamina for what is perhaps the most complex discipline in sports climbing - she finished in first place at the Ice Climbing World Cup 2010. At the 2011 World Championships in Busteni, Romania, she started out with frozen water and ended up with noble bronze by taking third place in the "Lead" category. She came in behind teammate and title defender Angelika Rainer (IT) and Woon Seon Shin (KOR).

Anna Galliamova also applies her talent for leadership away from the competitive scene. The young Russian has ascended rock face routes of up to 8b, she writes arti-cles and takes photographs professionally for Russian special-interest media, and on top of that she works as coach in bouldering and sports climbing.
Anna, welcome to the team.
