Daniel is your typical Zillertal scallywag and adventurer. His easy-going ways can bring a smile to anyone's face. This carpenter by trade clearly has a keen sense of humour. And he's got a lot of nerve too. That's why, on routes such as "Reise nach Ixtlan" (8a), he doesn't even buckle on his harness. On his first expedition to Alaska he climbed through 2,000 metres in a storm simply because he couldn't be bothered waiting in the tent. Since 2000 the Tyrolean has been most at home when on the vertical. He has climbed redpoint several 8b+/8b rated routes in his beloved Zillertal, with more to come, and he is also quite at ease flash climbing or free solo climbing French grade 8 routes. Apart from these achievements, Daniel is one of the youngest mountain and ski guides in Austria. He has been a training supervisor with the Tyrolean professional ski instructors' association since 2008 and joined the SALEWA alpineXtrem team in January 2010.
