Michi Wohlleben

Germany
Born: 1990
Team: Alpinism
Sports: climbing, alpine climbing, skiing, bouldering, ice climbing

Good things come in small packages. OK, Michi is no longer small but he is definitely powerful.  He joined the SALEWA alpineXtrem team in 2010 and is the youngest member at 20. Michi first took up climbing at the age of 8 with a German Alpine association climbing group in the Belzhag climbing hall. As a "face" of the 2010 Rock Show qualifications tour, Michi has inspired numerous talented youngsters across the country to make the move from the climbing hall to the rock face. And the young climber can show them how it's done. Already he has climbed the north face of the Eiger twice (by the Heckmair route), and also the Colton-MacIntyre route in the Grandes Jorasses. But he has also been trying out sports climbing routes. He has re-conquered the Markus Bock route "New Orleans Heavy Weight Division" (11-, Frankenjura) and is working step by step towards his own mountaineering goals as a member of the German Alpine association's 2009 "Expedkader" squad.
